Streetsmart Firefighter Days

On September 18th and 19th we will be running totally free training sessions 4 hours a day in the afternoon from 1pm till 5 pm.  This will be held on a monthly basis and the back to back dates will be a mirror image of each other so all shifts can go.  It will be open to surrounding departments also.  It will be different topics every month but the first will be Fire streams and hose deployments.  More details will be coming soon but here is a taste.

Here is an option for pulling a 200' triple fold rackline in a confined space.  This is used when you have to pull the line parallel to the engine.

Bundle turned into coil load

 Bundle Into A Coil Method

These are a couple of training videos on how to turn the standard Austin Fire Dept. bundle into a coil for confined space deployment. This is not an every time method, but if you get in a bind it may bail you out some day. We had a lot of success with it.

The first 75 feet goes back to the wye appliance and you coil the other 75 feet. It does not have to be perfect.

The last video shows some hose rolls and also shows how quickly you can move with the coils once the line is charged.

Give it a try and post results.
